A Quartet of Contemporary Living
Developed for a local residential developer in Dubai, V01–V03 explore three distinct approaches to contemporary villa living within a shared framework of efficiency, privacy and climate-responsive design. Ranging from 300 to 450 sqm across two levels, each villa combines generous living spaces with clearly separated private and service areas.
Clean geometric forms restrained material palettes and carefully integrated landscaping establish a common architectural language across the three houses. North-oriented glazing introduces soft natural light while reducing direct solar exposure, and the relationship between interior and exterior spaces is adapted to the individual concept of each villa.
V01-DXB — The White Box
Defined by white façades, expansive glazing and a composed geometric expression, V01-DXB explores clarity and simplicity. Living spaces engage directly with the landscape at ground level, while service functions are contained within a separate volume. The upper floor accommodates the private bedroom suites, creating a clear distinction between social and private areas.
V02-DXB — The Courtyard Villa
Inspired by the spatial principles of the traditional Moroccan riad, V02-DXB reinterprets the courtyard house for contemporary living. Its U-shaped organization frames a protected central garden, bringing natural light and landscape into the heart of the residence while maintaining privacy. Bedrooms occupy the side wings, with shared living spaces positioned centrally around the courtyard.
V03-DXB — The Floating Box
V03-DXB is defined by the contrast between a solid upper volume and a transparent ground floor. The elevated form creates an impression of lightness while expansive glazing connects the main living spaces directly to the landscape. The composition reduces the architecture to a restrained dialogue between mass, transparency and proportion.
Climate and Efficiency
The villas combine light-colored façades, controlled glazing, thermal insulation and opportunities for cross-ventilation to respond to Dubai's climate. Simple structural geometries and efficient planning reduce unnecessary complexity while allowing each house to maintain a distinct architectural identity.
The result is a family of residences that balances architectural character, environmental response, construction efficiency and contemporary living.
