Spring Compound

Spring Compound is a residential development in Riyadh conceived as an inward-looking environment that responds to the need for privacy while creating a strong relationship between architecture and landscape.

Local height regulations informed the project’s distinctive massing strategy. The building is organized as a series of layered rings that shift in relation to one another, breaking down the scale of the overall volume while generating terraces, shaded areas and a variety of corner units. This layered composition gives the compound a more articulated identity while maintaining the efficiency of a unified residential development.

The project comprises 54 units across three typologies: one-, two- and three-bedroom residences. Shared amenities—including a business area, gym and spa, mini-market and multipurpose room—are located at basement level. An integrated landscaped courtyard brings natural light into these spaces and establishes a continuous relationship between the communal facilities and the landscape above.

Landscape becomes an integral part of the architecture. The central garden extends vertically through the development toward accessible roof terraces, while elevated planted areas are incorporated into selected units. These suspended gardens animate the internal façades and provide residents with more intimate connections to greenery and outdoor space.

A restrained palette of light-toned finishes and bronze mesh panels responds to Riyadh’s desert environment. The mesh provides an additional layer of shade and privacy, while its warm tones establish a subtle relationship between the building and the surrounding landscape.
