Riyadh International Bowling Center

This is one of the biggest bowling centers in the city of Riyadh, KSA. It is a space in which both bachelors and families can commune for entertainment. The project includes 36 bowling lanes, a billiard room, a movie theater, and a restaurant. Two entrances are provided in line with the cultural tradition of separate spaces for bachelors and families.

The design needed to address the different functions of the building and create the proper spaces for each of them. The system of cutting and folding was used to evolve the form of the building past a strict rectangular box into a disassembled volume of edges and angles.

Corrugated metal sheets envelop the building’s steel skeleton and concrete structure. The design for the project determined an industrial appearance while creating an optimal communal space.
